[ She's there with a bag around noon, sitting at a table waiting for Eiji. ]

[ He was about fifteen minutes late due to work and a general short attention span. He seemed a little bit stressed out, but seeing Hina brought a big enough smile to his face to erase any other feeling. After fighting so much with Ankh, it would be fun to talk with her. ]

Yo, Hina-chan! [ He waved and ran over to meet her. ]

Hey, Eiji-san!

[ She hands the bag over. There's a nice warm blue jacket, two sweaters with Eiji-esque hobo-like patterns, three pairs of fuzzy socks, a wool cap, and a pair of boots. ]

I thought you might like this.

Wow!

[ Eiji looked like a thrilled little kid as he went through the bag, examining everything with a huge grin. Even if it had been free, he couldn't believe all of the stuff she'd gotten him. ]

You're amazing, Hina-chan. Thank you so much!

[ He reached across the table and gave her a quick hug before going back to marvel at the new things he had to wear. She must have really paid attention to the kind of things he liked! ]

[ Oh man a hug. She hugs back briefly. ]

I'm glad you like them!

I really do! [ He nodded to reaffirm his point. ]

How did you know what I like?

I was sort of guessing.

You're super good at guessing then! I kind of feel like I should have gotten you things too...

It's okay. I picked some things out for myself too. [ She gestures to the shirt she's wearing. ]

Ah, that's cute Hina-chan! Did you get thinks for Ankh too?

[dreiwuensche]

Yeah! He liked them.

[yokubo]

That's great! I'm happy for both of you. Ankh still doesn't get along too well with me, but it's okay if things are working between you guys.

[dreiwuensche]

He's kind of... prickly. I'm sure it's nothing personal.

[yokubo]

I thought that at first, but I'm honestly starting to think that he just doesn't like me. Which... I mean, I guess that's okay. It's just not what I hoped for.

[dreiwuensche]

I guess you can't be friends with everyone... [ The old Shingo would have loved Eiji, she refrains from saying. It's so strange how much he's changed. ]

I'm not going to give up yet. Even if he doesn't like me, I still think of him as a friend. Besides, he's important to you. I'll do whatever it takes to protect your happiness!

Wow, Eiji-san. [ She grins. ] You are way too nice to be in a place like this. Thanks.

[yokubo]

It's not that big of a deal! [ He waved his hands dismissively, almost as if he was just a bit embarrassed. ] Everyone protects their friends, right?

I guess so. [ Nods! That means she needs to try hard to protect Eiji and Ankh. ]

[yokubo]

What kind of people were you friends with before? I mean, before here. You probably have a lot of people who miss you.

[dreiwuensche]

A lot of my friends were classmates from school. [ She looks wistful. ] I told them I'd call and write, but I haven't had the chance yet. It's just been so hectic since I got here.

[yokubo]

I'm sure they understand. It just means they'll be even happier when they do finally hear from you!

Good point. I hope they aren't too worried, though.
